Patricia “Patty” Ann Munsen, age 82 of Hastings, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday morning, Jan. 18, 2023, after spending the last few weeks of her life surrounded by family.

She was born on Jan. 23, 1940, in Hastings, MN, to Llewelyn and Marietta (Nilan) Johnson. She was the homecoming queen in 1957 and a cheerleader at Hastings High School – she even wore her cheerleading uniform to her 60th class reunion, complete with pom poms. Patty was married to Jim “Pugsley” Munsen on May 7, 1960, with whom she loved to travel and play dice with. They were blessed with four children and their family was affectionally referred to as “Pat, Jim and the 4 little J’s.” Patty was always up for a good time and we will fondly remember her love for dancing and singing “Paper Roses” with her friends at every opportunity. She also enjoyed Thursday night bowling, grasshoppers, St. Patrick’s Day, Maui, visiting Gulf Shores, Alabama, and watching the Minnesota Vikings.

Patty is survived by her children, Jim (Liz) Munsen, Jill (Mike) Wagner, Jeff (Kim) Munsen, and John (Isabel) Munsen; sisters, Judy (Richard) Radabaugh and Jane Carlson; sisters-in-law, Donna Johnson and Jane (Ron) Gerken; eleven grandkids and sixteen great grandkids; and by other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim; and by her siblings, MaryLou (Sy) Raway, Sonny Johnson and Billy Johnson.

Mass of Christian Burial was held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hastings, with Father David Hennen of昀ciating. Private family interment was held at the parish cemetery.

Family and friends were cordially invited to a visitation from 10- 11 a.m., and to a reception immediately following Mass, all at church on Saturday.
