1927-2024

Patricia “Patty” Doffing, age 96 of Cannon Falls and Hastings, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2024, two weeks shy of her 97th birthday. She was a resident of Presbyterian Homes Flagstone Senior Living in Eden Prairie at the time of her passing

Born January 31, 1927, near Cannon Falls, MN, she lived a full life of family & friends. She attended country school and was the only student in 5th and 6th grades. She graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1945 and was their first Homecoming Queen (then Harvest Queen) when only a sophomore.

She began her banking career at the First National Bank of Cannon Falls. Patty later worked as an officer at the First National Bank of Hastings and at the MidAmerica/Dakota County State Bank of Mendota Heights. She worked as a banker, serving all of these communities 47 years. All knew “Pat the Red Head at the bank” for her friendly smile, personal greeting, and insight on money and finance. She helped many families and businesses in the communities when she served in as teller, cashier, Vice President and Officer, at a time when there were few women in banking management positions.

Patricia was many things to so many different people – Mom, Grandma, Aunt Pat, Great Aunt Patty, Pat the Red Head at the Bank, and if you were really special “you old sweetie pie”! Brilliant red hair was a signature look, she often received compliments from friends and strangers alike. She was known for her inability to cook and was recognized for her store-bought jello and Dairy Queen cakes.

She was preceded in death by parents Frank and Margaret Judge, her beloved husband Gregory, siblings Helen (Egan), Margaret (Sheridan), Jerome Judge, and Mary Beth (Peine). Family was very important to Patricia. When she and her siblings would gather, things would soon escalate in laughter and cackling as the Judges were in session!

Survived by her three children Dennis (Sharon) of White Bear Lake, Deborah of Lilydale, and Timothy of Hastings. Also survived by her three grandchildren Rebecca in Iceland, Kelly in Peru, and Daniel (finance’ Bethany) in St. Paul. One of her favorite excursions was to take each grandchild to shop for a new school outfit each year. She loved to attend the grandkids special concerts and was proud of all their accomplishments.

The family would like to thank the staff at Flagstone Senior Living for all of the care and enrichment they provided to Mom for the past two years. They made her feel safe, wanted, and a part of the Flagstone community. We would also thank Optage Hospice Services for their kind, compassionate, and comforting support of our mother and family in her final days.

Goodbye, you old sweetie pie!
