If you own a business, Xcel Energy has created a program to grant temporary rate discounts for small- and mid-sized businesses in Minnesota and local area businesses may qualify based on the closures from the pandemic.
Xcel Energy is committed to helping businesses get back on their feet after being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic shutdowns or civil unrest. If your Minnesota business has experienced a material impact from the pandemic, along with an electric load decrease of 25% or more in electric demand as a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic or civil unrest, you may be eligible for a temporary 25% discount on base energy and demand charges on your bill through. For eligible Minnesota customers with an average monthly peak load below 100 kW, discounts are available Jan. 1 through Aug. 31, 2021. For eligible Minnesota customers with a monthly peak load between 100 kW and 2,000 kW discounts are available through March 31, 2021.
If you think you qualify, simply search on Google for “Xcel Pandemic and Civil Unrest Recovery” and the first link that comes up should be your link. The actual page from Xcel is too long to force you to type in.
