2021 Hastings High School

With prom 2020 being cancelled all across the state, Hastings Senior High students were all smiles in 2021. Unfortunately, no spectators were allowed for the Grand March, but thankfully, the community is blessed to have a wonderful staff of folks with Hastings Community Television and, once again, the HCTV crew came to the rescue streaming the march online and on channel 14 / HD 799.

The Grand March was held at the high school starting at 4:00 p.m. Couples were assigned a time to walk across the bridge. Each couple was allowed in the school five minutes before their scheduled time, they were required to wear masks, and reminded to maintain physical distancing. Once they walked in the march, they exited the building. It was a quick in and out. The Grand March was a little over an hour long. With the dance starting at eight, couples had plenty of time to enjoy dinner and drive to the Radisson Blu at Mall of America. Once at the Lakes Ballroom at the Radisson Blu, the couples were assigned tables. Again, they were reminded to stay masked up and have a great time.

A special thank you to the parents that contributed photos to this story. This community is so amazing and you all are the reason we love what we do.

Hopefully this group of folks and the rest of HCTV know just how much they are appreciated for their hard work this last year keeping all of us connected to the kids and their events.

The Grand March looked very different this year and the kids were cool with that, they got to have a prom. HCTV live streamed the Grand March on Facebook live and on TV because no one was allowed to watch in person.
