Our education system is not broken

To the editor:
Across the nation, and unfortunately even locally, attacks on public education are occurring.
If the public thinks that our public education system is “broken,” or cannot be
trusted, then they will support a push by large political organizations for public tax
dollars to be funneled to private schools.
Don’t fall for the political rhetoric and disinformation about test scores. Our public
education system is robust and effective. It serves our community well.
Are there things that could be improved? Absolutely! However, school board directors
focusing on culture war issues; regarding books, flags, equity services, and attacks on
teachers is not how to improve upon our district.
Please vote for four school board candidates who will “cut the chaos” that we have been
dealing with for the past two years. Vote for candidates who will work to support issues
and policies that will improve our district’s work for both students and staff.
Vote for four candidates who have the best interest of public education as their guiding
light. Vote for the candidates who will work to make our schools safe and welcoming to ALL students
and who will strive to improve all aspects of our district.
I urge you to vote for Matt Bruns, Matt Seeger, Mariah Ring, and Brandy Wentzler.
They truly love our schools, and want to serve our community.
