Highway 316 will be closed starting September 6 until the middle of October. The closure is to allow the MNDoT an opportunity to correct issues found after the redesign of the highway last year. The closures will be between Highway 61 and 33rd St. W. the detour to access the local neighborhoods and businesses will be to use 33rd St. W between Hwy 61 and Hwy 316. Motorists traveling on northbound Highway 316 between 33rd Street and Highway 61 will encounter a full closure and detour of northbound Highway 316 as crews begin a month-long project to complete the Highway 316 construction project and adjust curb and medians at 31st Street and Spiral Boulevard.
Beginning at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, northbound Highway 316 will be closed and detoured between 33rd Street and Highway 61. Local business travelers or residents should follow the signed detours:
Motorists traveling through the area that do not need to access a residential neighborhood or businesses in the area should follow the signed regional detour using Hwy 61 to bypass Hwy 316 and the closure area.
Northbound Highway 316 is expected to reopen by mid-October.
