Mary I. Haas (McCauley), age 79, passed away on May 31, 2023 at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN.
Mary Isabelle was born on July 13, 1943 to parents Clarence and Isabelle McCauley. She graduated from St. Paul Central High School and started working at Jacob Schmidt Brewing Company shortly after. Mary later took a job as an administrative assistant at 3M for many years. She met her husband of almost 40 years, Richard “Dick” Haas, at a picnic for 3M in 1981 and got married in December of 1983. She loved going down south to Mustang Island and Padre Isle, Texas every winter with Dick for over 20 years. Mary enjoyed knitting blankets and scarves for her family, canning, golfing regularly, fishing, and everything else about the outdoors. She was an excellent baker and could always be found in her rhubarb patch gathering stems to make rhubarb pies, bars, and cakes.
She is preceded in death by her son, Bruce Lehman; her parents; grandson, Shane and brothers, Phil and Tom McCauley.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Richard; children Kerri (s.o. Patrick Christianson) Lehman, Sandy (Steve) Tabor, Kathleen (John) Jagielski, Diane Crosby, Dan Haas, and Dennis (Andrea) Haas and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on June 7, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will be at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Cemetery following Mass with a reception at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, Mary would prefer donations to either the American Diabetes Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
