1925-2020

On Monday, November 16, 2020, Marian Rowland, peacefully passed to her heavenly home. She was preceded in death by husband, Harland Rowland. She is survived by her daughters, Suzan (Ray) Schmidt of St. Paul Park, MN and Mary Fjetland of Hastings, MN as well as six grandchildren, Dana Fjetland, Greg (Maggie) Fjetland, Michael (Heidi) Schmidt, Carrie (Andrew) Carlson, Jeff (Tiffany) Fjetland and Jamie Fjetland; 28 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; sister-in-law, Shirley Karls.

Her family brought her the most joy. She was a woman of strong faith and traveled twice to the Ukraine on mission trips. Through out the years, Marian was noted for entertaining friends and family. She loved traveling near and far as well going to garage sales. She was an avid reader. Marian volunteered in many capacities for her church and her communities over the years – most recently at Park Ridge Senior Living in Hastings.

As did her husband, Marian chose to donate her body to the University of Minnesota, Department of Anatomy for research. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Hastings Family Service Food shelf or donor’s choice. Condolences to the family can be sent to 445 Tiffany Drive, Hastings, MN 55033.

Private services for the family were held on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at Resurrection Methodist, Hastings with internment at Fort Snelling Cemetery at a later date..
