Earlier this year, an independent reporter revealed an organization that was stealing millions of dollars of U.S. government funds. They called themselves “Quality Learing.”
Much has been made of the fact that their spelling skills were lacking. But for some reason, people thought they were trying to spell “learning.” My contention is that they meant to say “Leering.” My dictionary says that leering can be “looking with sly and malicious intent.” To me, one works as well as the other. Either way, we got robbed by folks that hate us. But “leering is more accurate.
