What a weekend! Kathy Sullivan, owner of Old School Arts Studio, Afton, Mn, held a two-day event for local Artists to hock their wares. The event was held Saturday and Sunday, September 26th and 27th at her Studio.

Live music on both days, featuring Jim Schiebe, born in Hastings and Bruce McLean. These guys belted out tunes anywhere from Jimmy Durante, Frank Sinatra, Neil Diamond, to Opera. Many folks who came to shop stayed for the music. Jim and Bruce are available for hire. Contact Bruce McLean at 612-812-1524.

Artist’s sold pottery, jewelry, books, gave Angel readings, and a well-established Author/Visionary, sold children’s and adult books.

Kathy Sullivan, owner of Old School Art Studio, had her Studio open to the public. Kathy creates in many dimensions and has a gathering at her Studio every Thursday to allow women artists to meet, motivate and glean from each other’s talents… creating friendships beyond art… creating a village of kindred spirits.

Lo and behold, on Sunday afternoon, yet another fabulous group called Drink Wine with Friends Band. An all-female band, ranging from Blues, Rock, Swing, and pure FUN! They play for private parties, festivals, clubs and open jams. For booking information, contact Drinkwinewithfriends. com or Call Kathy at 651-216-5290.

As both an Artist and an aficionado of live music, I spent both afternoons enjoying both live shows. I encourage all of us to be a patron of the Arts on some level to KEEP THE ARTS ALIVE.
