Minnesotans have a lot of which to be proud. Our lakes and environment. Great schools. Four seasons. Tater tot hot dish. Another thing that sets us apart is how seriously we take voting. Whether we’re choosing a president, senator, mayor, or school board member, we Minnesotans consistently have the best voting record in the nation. This year should be no exception. And Minnesota makes it simple to vote early, by mail or in person. So, if you’re an eligible Minnesota voter, please visit vote.mn to learn about your voting options, and how and where to cast your ballot. Early voting starts Friday, September 18. Thank you our democracy is worth it!

VOVTOE/TVEO!!
The Hastings Area Retired Educators Association (HAREAM) in conjunction with the RETIRED EDUCATORS ASSOCIATION OF MN are conducting a statewide campaign to get out the vote in the upcoming election on November 3rd. Both groups are NON-Partisan.
In the 2016 election, statistics showed that both the active and retired educators in MN did NOT do a good job in getting out to vote. In the 2018 election that group did much better. In 2016 HAREAM conducted a concentrated effort to increase voting numbers in both 54 & 54B.
For this most important election HAREAM is again concentrating on MN Senate and House districts 54/54B. Your VOTE is your civic duty and right guaranteed by the Constitution of the U.S. Every legislative district in MN has several safe areas to make sure your vote is tabulated and counted. You can track your ballot from the time it is entered to the time it is counted. Make sure to TRACK your ballot. I am going to deliver my ballot in person to the City Hall in Hastings where there is an official voting station. The absentee ballots will be out September 18. Hopefully you know how you will fill out your ballot. If you are mailing your ballot don’t dilly dally. The mail takes a bit longer these days. Make sure your ballot is safely returned or maybe you will vote in person.
Don’t be caught up in trying to vote twice. If you were to succeed you WILL be caught and charged with a FELONY. In MN when you turn in a ballot early and then go to vote on election day, a big RED LINE will show across your name indicating that you have already voted.
Happy voting!!!!
Paul Ehrhard, REAM President Elect.
