Karla Bigham, former Cottage Grove city councilwoman, Washington county commissioner (2015-2018), Minnesota state representative and Minnesota state senator, will be honored Tuesday, April 4, at a dinner and roast at River Oaks Golf Course and Event Center, 11099 South Hwy 61 in Cottage Grove. Doors open at 6pm with a buffet at 6:15 and tributes and stories beginning at 6:30. Margaret Anderson Kelliher, former Speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives who served with Bigham, will be the master of ceremonies. Several of Bigham's past and present colleagues from her many years of service plan to offer stories and tributes.
Bigham's years of elected service have included representing citizens of Cottage Grove, Hastings, Afton, St. Paul Park, Newport, and the townships of Grey Cloud Island, Denmark and Nininger. "Nobody works harder than Karla Bigham," noted Senate District 41 Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party chair Eileen Weber. "When Karla runs, Karla wins. And when Karla wins, our communities benefit from her tireless engagement with schools, public safety, law enforcement, workplace safety, and a sustainable environment for generations to come."

All donations go to the local Senate District 41 DFL Party and are eligible for Minnesota's Political Contribution Refund of $50/person or $100/couple.
