It’s official!
Thirteen months after the start of the Hastings Journal, the local newspaper was named by the Hastings City Council Monday night as the city’s Official Newspaper.
The Journal replaces the Pioneer Press in that capacity as of July 1.
The council vote on the matter – within its consent agenda – was unanimous.
The City of Hastings public notices will now appear in The Journal.
“We’re excited to be named the Official Newspaper of the City of Hastings,” Journal Publisher John Mc-Loone said. “We believe the notices belong in a local newspaper. No publication comes near matching our weekly circulation.”
“We thank the City of Hastings and the City Council for placing their confidence in us,” said McLoone.
