The American sandwich chain Jersey Mike’s has expanded into Hastings, Minn. Located at 1217 Vermillion Street, the new eatery will have the first drivethru in the state. The scheduled opening is September 14.
The Jersey Mike’s franchise has over 2,000 locations, including international locations in Australia and Canada. Sandwiches are made to order, and meat and cheeses are sliced on the spot. Subs can be served the signature “Mike’s Way,” which includes onions, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, oregano, salt, spices, red wine vinegar and olive oil.
Kavrin McGuire, area supervisor for nine Jersey Mike’s locations including Hastings, said the original opening date was delayed due to plumbing issues. For now, he is working on getting a staff ready.
The general manager from the Rosemont store, Aiden Cahill, will be moving to the Hastings store. McGuire said two other managers are currently training to join the team.
“For parttime staffing, we’ve been getting an influx of applicants, which is fantastic to see,” said McGuire.
According to the area supervisor, the response from the community has been positive. For more information about the Jersey Mike’s in town, visit the Facebook page Jersey Mike’s Subs: Hastings.
