James S. Reinardy, age 75, of Hastings passed away surrounded by his loving partner, Sue on October 20, 2023. Jim was born August 21, 1948 to Francis “Frank” & Irene (King) Reinardy, and was born in Hastings. He was educated at St. Boniface School and Hastings High School. Following his graduation in 1966, he served in the Army and served as a Vietnam veteran. Jim worked as a carpenter in residences and commercial work. Jim enjoyed raising a garden, caning, and making homemade sauerkraut. He also enjoyed fishing and having a beer with friends. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Irene Reinardy; brother, Don Reinardy; sister, Kathleen Reinardy; and stillborn sister, Mary. He is survived by his partner of 35 Years, Sue Moeller; sons, Steven & Daniel Reinardy; sister, Sharon Cook; brother, Francis (Dawn) Reinardy; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Reinardy Handley; great-granddaughters, Sophia & Savanna; sister-in-law, Simone Reinardy; niece, nephews, other relatives, and friends. A celebration of life for Jim will be held Friday, October 27 from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
