James J. Estlund, age 75, of Hastings, MN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
James was born on May 04, 1949 to Ralph and Irene (Tubby and Tootie) Estlund. James attended Hastings High School, where he excelled at boxing, football, and wrestling. He worked as a pipefitter and retired from Koch Refinery, where he was a proud union member.
He was an avid car enthusiast, clock repairman, collector, passionate about sports, and loved to keep a meticulous lawn. He enjoyed walking his dog, and was a mainstay on 2nd street every day.
James is survived by his children Jacqueline Bonenko, Nels (Moriah) Estlund, and Cody (Charity) Estlund; grandchildren Aleksandra, Benjamin, James, Jade, and Owen; sister Sharon Swanson; nephews Tom Reinardy and Jamie Smith; niece Sarah Swanson; great friend Charlie Rehfield, and many others.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Irene (Tubby and Tootie) Estlund; sister Bonnie Smith; and nephew Robert Swanson.
A visitation for James was held on Monday, November 25, 2024 from 1 - 3 p.m. at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, 3075 Vermillion Street, Hastings, MN.
Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings.
