The Minnesota Department of Transportation will continue its work on Highway 316 to complete the new corridor. Crews reopened the road last fall; however, the plan always included work in 2022. The remaining work can be summarized into four components:
• Curb and median adjustments at the Spiral Boulevard and 31st Street intersections to improve traffic flow.
• Ditch and drainage improvements to alleviate the standing water south of the Tuttle Drive intersection.
• Pavement markings, particularly for areas in the northern portion of the corridor.
• Miscellaneous items for the contractor to complete before final acceptance of the project.
The contractor anticipates work to begin after Labor Day and could continue through October. Temporary lane closures with local detours are expected, but not the longterm closures experienced in 2021. More detailed information will be provided closer to the planned construction.
