The Hastings boys tennis team is a competitive bunch.
While the Raiders are 4-4 on the season, coach Alex Zuzek likes the fight he sees in his team.
“We’ve had tons of close matches,” Zuzek said. “Only two of the matches have been either 0-7 or 7-0. Everything else has been pretty competitive. We have a good balance of seniors, juniors and freshmen, no sophomores on varsity.”
The Raiders swept doubles play for a big win against South Saint Paul on Thursday, April 18 but then dropped a close match against White Bear Lake the next day.
“I am pleased with how it has gone and how we have handled close matches. We have done well in tiebreakers and third sets. We had a huge win vs. South St. Paul and a tough loss Friday,” said Zuzek.
