October 17 5:40 a.m. – A car vs. deer crash was reported at Glendale Drive near Spiral Boulevard.

9:44 a.m. – Police responded for a damage to property complaint in the 800 block of Pine Street.

12:31 p.m. – Police were called to a residence in the 200 block of 11th Street West for a civil matter.

3:21 p.m. – A theft by swindle complaint was investigated. October. 18 3:07 a.m. – A found BMX-style bike was inventoried. 9:23 a.m. – A citation was issued after a two-vehicle traffic accident at Pine Street and 14th Street. Daine Marie, 73, Hastings was cited for starting a stopped vehicle before movement was safe. There were no injuries.

9:24 a.m. – Officers assisted Dakota County Social Services at a residence on 26th Street East.

9:57 a.m. – A man was transported to the hospital after a welfare check was requested.

12:24 p.m. – A damage report was reported in the 100 block of 3rd Street East. It was unclear when damage occurred.

3:55 p.m. – Hastings officers started an investigation into a threats complaint involving a juvenile.

3:59 p.m. – A financial fraud investigation was initiated after a complaint from a resident on 26th Street East.

10:53 p.m. – Officers assisted the State Patrol with a single- vehicle accident that took place in the 300 block of Vermillion Street. One person was reportedly injured.

October 19 9:24 a.m. – Officers were made aware of an. incident involving juvenile in the 1600 block of Northridge Drive.

1:43 p.m. – Police responded to a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Vermillion and 15th Streets. Michael Rodrigues, 29, Hastings, was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

3:03 p.m. – An election sign was reported stolen from a home in the 1400 block of Riverbluff Drive.

3:43. p.m. – A theft complaint was reported from a residence in the 1400 block of Hillside Street.

6:36 p.m. – A traffic stop was conducted near Eddy and 15th Street West. Kevin Michael Kieffer, 46, Hastings was arrested for driving with a cancelled license.

7:43 p.m. – Police were dispatched for a domestic incident, and the situation was mediated.

8:40 p.m. – Katelynn Andrea Johnson, 32, Saint Paul, was arrested after a traffic stop at 4th and Tyler Streets for operating while intoxicated and obstruction of the legal process.

9:09 p.m. – Officers received a theft report on 26th Street East. An unknown male stole a purple Mongoose bicycle from outside a residence.

11:27 p.m. – A traffic stop was conducted in the 1200 block of Vermillion Street. Ashley Ann Gary, 29, Hastings, was arrested for driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit to a chemical test.

October 20 1:54 a.m. – Police assisted the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office with a suspicious vehicle call at Kwik Trip.

7:34 a.m. – A driver was warned for not driving with due care after a one vehicle accident with no injuries in the 1200 block of Vermillion Street.

10:51 a.m. – Officers responded to a report of theft of policial signs in the 600 block of Eddy Street.

2:29 p.m. – A male agreed to leave a house after the report of a domestic situation.

3:02 p.m. – Officers responded to a property damage report in the 300 block of 6th Street East.

9:57 p.m. – Parties were separated for the night after a domestic situation was reported.

11:48 p.m. – Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that occurred in a parking lot in the 3400 block of Vermillion Street.

October 21 12:12 p.m. – A hit-and-run accident was reported on Three River Drive. The incident is under investigation.

1:29 p.m. – Officers investigated an identity theft complaint at a residence on Sibley Street.

2:31 p.m. – A license plate was stolen from a parked vehicle in the 100 block of 6th Street East.

5:36 p.m. – A theft was reported from a residence in the 200 block of 21st Street East.

October 22 2:54 a.m. – A suspicious person complaint was documented after a call from a resident in the 100 block of 3rd

Street East.

11:13 a.m. – A damage to property complaint was received from a resident in the 700 block of Bailey Street.

12:49 p.m. – A complaint of suspicious circumstances was investigated at a residence in the 100 block of Bahl’s Drive.

5:10 p.m. – A black leather wallet was reported lost near the intersection of 2nd and Sibley Street.

October 23 10:56 a.m. – A theft report was taken in the 1700 block of North Frontage Road.

2:51 p.m. – A two-vehicle accident was reported at the dog park at 10th Street East. No injuries were reported, and no citations were issued.

10:43 p.m. – Officers and the Hastings Fire Department responded to a wooded area east of the Hastings Public Works property for a fire that had spread into the woods. The incident is under investigation.

11:26 p.m. – An assault in progress was reported in the 1500 block of Vermillion Street. After investigation, Bryan James Chuhel, 59, Hastings, was arrested for 5th degree assault.
