HASTINGS POLICE REPORTS

December 21st 9:20 a.m. Officers took a theft from vehicle report in the 1000 block of 1st St. No suspects.

9:35 a.m. Officers took a theft from vehicle report in the 300 block of Whispering Ln. No suspects.

10:12 a.m. Officers responded to a medical in the 1800 block of N Frontage Rd.

10:52 a.m. Officers took a theft report in the 200 block of Crestview Drive. An unknown individual had taken items out of an unlocked vehicle. There are some potential suspects.

11:20 a.m. Officers made contact with a vehicle that had been parked in a city owned lot on the 1200 block of 10th St. E. for the past couple of days. On 12/22 the registered owner Michael Curley, 46 of Vadnais Heights, was issued a citation for the ordinance parking violation. The vehicle was also towed.

1:03 p.m. Officers were called to the 1100 block of Bahl’s Drive for a suspicious act call. Inactive.

2:52 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Featherstone Court regarding a theft from motor vehicle. An unknown person or persons entered the victim’s vehicle and removed approximately $800 worth of items.

6:24 p.m. Officers responded to the 500 block of 6th Street W for a threats report. Officers were able to mediate the situation.

11:19 p.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop at 19th St. and Vermillion St. and the vehicle fled. After investigation, an adult male was identified and will be charged via formal complaint for felony fleeing from police ina motor vehicle, reckless driving, careless driving, failure to stop at a stop sign, speeding, and failure to use a turn signal.

December 22nd 3:20 a.m. Officers initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of 23rd St and Vermillion St. during the investigation the officers found the vehicle had stolen vehicle registration tabs and two of the vehicles occupants were found to have suspected narcotics. Hser Nayku Taw, 20 if St. Paul, was arrested for felony narcotics possession and misdemeanor receiving stolen property. One juvenile male was also arrested for felony drug possession.

5:33 a.m. An officer responded to the 1100 block of Pine Street for a damage to property report. The case is under investigation. There is suspect info in this case.

5:38 a.m. I, Officer Nowlan, responded to a reported theft in the 500 block of Spiral Blvd. No suspects.

12:21 p.m. Officers assisted Dakota County Social Services. Information only.

12:44 p.m. Officers took a report of suspicious activity in the 100 block of 3rd Street East. Under investigation.

2:45 p.m. Officers took a theft from vehicle report in the 1700 block of South Frontage Rd. No suspects.

7:45 p.m. Officer initiated a traffic stop at Red Wing Boulevard and Spiral Boulevard. Ciara Rossi, 26 of Red Wing, was cited for expired registration.

9:44 p.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Ravenna Trail and Glendale Road. After investigation Cynthia Rae Vanwert, 32 of St. Paul, was cited for driving after revocation and no proof of insurance. Antonio Demetric Nunn, 35 of Oakdale, was cited for possession of an open container.

11:10 p.m. An officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle at 14th St E. and Vermillion St. Jacob Braun, 27 of St. Paul, was cited for driving after revocation and no proof of insurance.

December 23rd 2:43 a.m. An officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle at Red Wing Boulevard and 31st Street East. Anthony Bourgoin, 43 of Vadnais Heights was cited for driving after revocation.

3:35 a.m. Officers responded to a damaged road sign near the intersection of 17th Street West and Vermillion Street. The street sign was moved to the median and MNDOT was advised.

6:41 a.m. Officer took a driving complaint and James Michael Anderson, 32 of St. Paul, was cited for driving after revocation.

3:51 p.m. I (Officer Bukkila #1429) was driving north on General Sieben Drive and I came across a crash invo0lving a semitruck with trailer and a passenger car. They were in the intersection of General Sieben Dr. and S. Frontage Rd. No citations issued and no injuries reported.

6:00 p.m. The city of Hastings declared a snow emergency. 25 vehicles were cited for on-street parking in violation of the city snow emergency ordinance. Zero vehicles were towed.

6:33 p.m. Officers responded to an animal call on the 1300 block of 3rd Street E. December 24th 3:06 a.m. Officers recovered a stolen license plate on a vehicle in the 3900 block of Shannon Drive.

7:10 p.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of 15th Street W and Lyn Way. The driver Michael Munger, 35 of Hastings, was issued a citation for expired registration.

December 25th 12:41 a.m. Officers located a damaged street/stop sign at the intersection of 31st Street East and Millard Avenue. Unknown value of damages. No suspects.

1:27 p.m. Hastings Officers were requested by the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office to assist with a call located on the 22000 block of Chippendale Ave in Castle Rock Township. Hastings Officers utilized their K9 in attempt to locate a suspect.

11:24 p.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of HWY 61 and Spiral View Loop. The driver Shawn Niebolte, 30 of Clearwater, was issued a citation for driving after revocation.

December 26th 11:57 a.m. Officer took a burglary report from the 100 block of Florence St.

5:23 p.m. Officer took a damage to property report from Radford Rd.

7:44 p.m. Officers located a damaged stop sign at the intersection of Ramsey Street and 10th Street East.

8:43 p.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1400 block of 145th Street. Ethan Daniel Waite, 18 of Woodbury, was cited for possession of marijuana.

December 27th 7:09 a.m. Officers responded to theft in progress in the 1600 block of Vermillion St. The suspect stole multiple items before leaving the scene in a vehicle. Estimated loss is $29.01 in merchandise.

9:17 a.m. Officers discovered a street sign had been struck by an unknown vehicle. The incident was reported to the Streets Department in order for the sign to be replaced.

10:31 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Olive Street regarding a theft. An unknown person or persons removed a wallet form a purse that was left at a residence.

2:05 p.m. An officer located a vehicle on the 1100 block of 14th St. W. that had been plowed in by a snowplow. Kenneth Lundquist, 49 of Hastings, was issued a citation for expired registration. His vehicle was towed from the scene.

3:26 p.m. Officers responded to the 200 block of 4th St. E. for an assault report. During the investigation it was found the assault occurred in Woodbury and officers got the victim in touch with a officer from Woodbury.

4:05 p.m. Officers located a vehicle in the 800block of 3rd Street that was found in violation of the snow emergency that was declared on 12-23, had not been moved, and had expired registration. The registered owner Ariel Baez, 32 of Eagan, was cited for misdemeanor – expired registration and the vehicle was towed per the snow day emergency.

4:30 p.m. Officers received an after the fact report at the 200 block of 33rd St. W. There are no suspects.

Accident Report

December 24th 10:35 a.m. An officer responded to the 3600 block of Red Wing Blvd for a two vehicle crash with injuries. Mark James Reinardy, 47 of Hastings, was issued a citation for fail to yield left turn.

2:24 p.m. Officer was dispatched to the intersection of 4th Street West and Whispering Lane on a report of a two vehicle crash. No injuries and no citations issued. December 27th 5:08 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the area of General Sieben Drive and HWY 55 regarding a hit and run traffic accident. One vehicle rear ended another and then took off without stopping for the accident. After further investigation Karson Caleb Smith, 21 of Hastings, was issued a citation for misdemeanor – driving after revocation and misdemeanor – leaving the scene of an accident.

Juniors and Seniors of the Hastings High School Choirs worked together to continue the 35 -year Christmas Concert tradition of singing Peace, Peace. This year, due to restrictions, they did so virtually and the results were spectacular. Photo is a screen grab from the video provided by Luke Warren.
