Hastings Police Report

January 4th 4:58 a.m. Officers were dispatched to a theft from a motor vehicle report at the 4100 block of Starling Drive. The case is under investigation.

8:56 a.m. Received citizen’s online report of theft.

1:02 p.m. Officers stopped a vehicle on the 200 block of 21st St. E. After the registered owner came back as having a cancelled MN Diver’s License. After confirming the driver was the registered owner officers issued Eugene Mann, 57 of Hastings, a citation for the driving offense.

7:56 p.m. Officers responded to the 1100 block of Bahl’s Drive for a motorist assist. After investigations, Richard Joseph Trochman, 83 of Hastings, was booked and released into the Dakota County Jail for probable cause 4th degree DWI. This matter is under investigation.

9:37 p.m. Officers responded to the 200 block of 2nd Street East on a report of an assault. Upon arrival the suspect fled on foot and was apprehended after a short pursuit. After investigation Alisa Darlette Schampale Brown, 29 of Hastings, was arrest for 4th degree assault, 5th degree assault, 2nd degree DWI, fleeing a police officer on foot, 5th degree possession of a controlled substance, and open alcohol container in a vehicle.

January 5th 3:45 a.m. Officers investigated a parking complaint in the 3000 block of Lightbourn Court. After investigations, Kenneth Edsel Mead, 21 of Hastings, was issued a misdemeanor parking citation, and the vehicle was towed.

8:20 a.m. Hastings Officers responded to the 2300 block of Westview Dr. on a check the welfare call. After investigating the individual was located and found to be safe.

12:47 p.m. Officer started a predatory offender registration violation. 1:58 p.m. Hastings Police received found property and entered it into evidence.

3:28 p.m. Hastings Officers responded to the 1700block of Frontage Rd. N. on a theft in progress. The suspect left in a vehicle with the stolen merchandise. The vehicle was located and stopped. Scott Dewayne Tucker, 49 of Hastings, was cited for misdemeanor theft.

4:02 p.m. Officers responded to Marmik Circle for a burglary report.

10:07 p.m. An officer responded to a disturbance call near the 200 block of 33rd St. W. The incident is under investigation.

January 6th 1:00 a.m. Hastings Officers assisted Dakota County Sherriff’s Office with a traffic stop located at the intersection of Vermillion St. and 4th St.

9:03 a.m. Officer took a fraud report from 36th St. W.

9:29 a.m. Officers received a report of a CSC in the 100 block of 3rd Street East. Under investigation.

9:31 a.m. Investigation of Death. Per the medical examiner the body was turned over too the funeral home.

9:41 a.m. Officer located an abandoned vehicle in the 500 block of Ramsey St. Vehicle was towed.

10:17 a.m. Officer started investigating a stalking report. Upon investigation there was insufficient evidence to support a charge.

11:19 a.m. Officer took a theft report from the 200 block of 2nd St. W.

4:47 p.m. Officer towed a vehicle for expired registration.

4:52 p.m. Officer spoke to a citizen about a civil matter over child custody.

5:32 p.m. Hastings Police took a package theft report in the 500 block of Kendall Dr. An unknown suspect stole two books from an Amazon delivery package.

6:19 p.m. Officers responded to the 500 block of Tiffany Dr. for a damage to property report call. After investigation both parties involved agreed to work everything out through their insurance.

7:59 p.m. Officers responded to a medical incident in the 100 block of 9th Street West. Officers assisted medics while on scene.

8:01 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of 23rd Street after an individual stated his vehicle had been stolen while it was running in a parking lot. Officers checked the area and did not locate the vehicle. The vehicle was entered as stolen and the case is under investigation.

8:54 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Ramsey Street in regards to a weapons call. Officers investigated the call and determined everyone was safe.

January 7th 8:45 a.m. Officer took a vehicle theft report from 3rd St. W.

11:08 a.m. Officer took a theft report from 23rd St. W.

1:19 p.m. Hastings Officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Frontage Road S. on a check the welfare call.

7:08 p.m. An officer was dispatched to a crash at Hwy55 and Westview Dr. involving two vehicles. No injuries reported. One citation was issued to Jenna Vieths, 28 of Dundas, for failure to stop for traffic control device.

January 8th 10:50 a.m. Officer picked up found property at Lake Rebecca Park.

12:41 p.m. Investigation of a death.

6:35 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Vermillion St. and Red Wing Blvd. in regards to an accident with injuries. Officers assisted the MN State Patrol investigating the traffic accident.

January 9th 1:41 p.m. Officers were called to the 800 block of General Sieben Drive for a theft report. A juvenile Male, Hastings resident, was cited.

4:54 p.m. Officers were sent to the area of Glendale Road and Ravenna Trail for a damage to property and theft incident. Officers are investigating.

9:33 p.m. Officer was dispatched to an accident in the 600 block of Pine Street involving a parked car. No citations issued.

11:06 p.m. Officers responded to the 500 block of 11th Street West for a suspicion call. Malikh Sprung, 19 of Eagan, was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Parker Hansen, 19 of Hastings, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

11:58 p.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the 1500 block of Vermillion St. The driver Errin Lenz, 43 of Cottage Grove, was issued a citation for driving after a suspension and no proof of insurance.

11:58 p.m. Officers responded to the 2200 block of Cannon Street for a disturbance. Officer investigated the call. Noah McPherson, 41 of Hastings, was cited for disorderly conduct. Melissa Knutson, 36 of Hastings, was cited for disorderly conduct.

January 10th 10:27 a.m. Officers were notified of a hit and run accident in the 1700 block of North Frontage Road. The incident occurred on 01-09-2021, between 4p.m. and 5p.m. officers are investigating.

10:55 a.m. Officers took the auto theft report in the 400 block of 6th St. W. The victim advised the vehicle was stolen from the rear of the residence over night between the hours of 10:45 p.m. and 10:30 a.m. Suspects are unknown. Loss is approximately $2000.00.

2:45 p.m. Officers responded to the 300 block of 12th St. W. for a report of an unknown suspect who damaged a vehicle. During the investigation it appeared an unknown suspect threw a bottle at the victim’s vehicle causing approximately $200.00 worth of damage. Report completed.

6:37 p.m. Officers responded to a theft report in the 1700 block of North Frontage Road. An unknown male and female stole approximately $55.00 worth of items. The incident is under investigation.

6:47p.m. Ianayah Cody, 21 od Hastings, was arrested for a gross misdemeanor child endangerment warrant near the 200 block of 4th Street East.

6:56 p.m. Officers responded to 200 block of 4th St. E. for a drug activity call. A resident located drug paraphernalia in their vehicle. The situation was investigated.

9:23 p.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop near the 700 block of 31st Street W. the driver Toni Yarrington, 34 of Ellsworth Wisconsin, was issued a citation for driving without a valid license.

10:44 p.m. Officers responded to the 500 block of 4th Street West for a motor vehicle accident. There were no injuries reported in the accident. During the course of the investigation, Joshua Loiacano, 24 of Cottage Grove, was issued a citation for failure to drive with due care.
