Hastings Likes Their Seniors

Anna Raway, the Sales & Marketing Manager at Regina Senior Living, said, “Usually, we’re holding events to donate to local organizations, but this year is a little different.”

So Samantha Truler, the LPN Team Lead, decided that those most vulnerable needed some support. After all, they’ve suffered the most in these difficult times.

Samantha created a “Giving Tree” flyer for the residents in the Regina Care Center.

She posted the flyer on her Facebook page and on the “Hastings Moms” Facebook page.

The response blew her away. Over 40 Moms “requested a specific tag to support a resident.”

The flyer asked folks to call Samantha to receive gift tags, which the givers would then attach to their wrapped presents.

Food items were discouraged because of the residents’ dietary restrictions.

Suggested gift ideas for either men or women included socks, throw blankets, books, puzzles, and personal hygiene items.

Last week, the Director of Nursing at the Care Center reported that so many gifts had been received that those in Regina Assisted Living would also be recipients.

In fact, each resident in the Care Center may get as many as 2-3 gifts, due to the generosity extended by the Hastings community.

If that wasn’t enough, Tracey Beebe, a Mary Kay consultant, donated over 100 satin hand kits to the assisted living residents through Mary Kay’s “Adopt a Grandparent” program.

Regina’s Activity Team created a large THANK YOU banner that staff signed. All presents were then placed underneath the banner.

Once again, Hastings stepped up and made many people’s Christmas that much brighter.

Anna, Samantha, and the rest of the Regina Senior Living team couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you, Hastings!
