Hastings High School was ranked as the 29th best public high school in Minnesota.
US News & World Report annually produces the Best High Schools Rankings. Hastings received an overall score of 88.7 out of 100. Schools are ranked on their performance on staterequired tests, graduation rates and how well they prepare students for college, according to US News.
According to the Hastings data scorecard, the district had:
•A graduation rate of 97 percent.
•Science proficiency of 73 percent.
•Reading proficiency of 70 percent.
•Mathematics proficiency of 63 percent.
In addition, 42 percent of eligible students took at least one Advanced Placement exam, and 31 percent have passed an AP exam.
US News listed 414 high schools in Minnesota.
Locally, Hastings High fared well. Park High School in Cottage Grove was ranked 90th in the state, while Cannon Falls was 42nd and Red Wing was 163rd. Apple Valley High School was 49th, and Rosemount was 17th.
