Raising funds for youth sports is an ongoing process no matter the level, from the moment kids join sports to after they graduate, sports teams always need funds to operate. Organizations and teams are always looking for creative ways to engage fans and supporters and golf is no exception. The Hastings Golf Booster Club held their first annual golf tournament fundraiser at the Hastings Golf Club on Saturday, July 24. The event was a four-person scramble that features 17 different teams, an awesome turnout for a first-year event.
“The money raised will go to the Boys and Girls Golf Teams to provide opportunities for our youth to learn the game of golf,” said Girls Head Coach Becky Hartung after the tournament.
A tournament is tough to pull off without the help of wonderful community sponsors. The entire golf program would like to thank all the organizers, event sponsors, volunteers, players and businesses that donated to make the event a huge success.

The winning team was Sam Otto and Matthew Radke, both Hastings Alumni, along with their partners (not pictured), Brian Radke and Mike Mohrhauser. Photo Submitted.
