Hastings Fire Department Hosts Fire Prevention Week open house

Posted

On Oct. 10, from 7-9 p.m., the Hastings Fire Department (HFD) held its annual open house during Fire Prevention week. Hundreds of area residents descend on the fire department for interactive and informative demonstrations, treats, educational materials and the opportunity to get to know members of the Hastings Fire Department, Hastings Police Department (HPD) and the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO).

HFD was joined by representatives from the City of Hastings, Dakota Electric, the Public Safety committee, DCSO, HPD, Rosemount Fire Department and others to put on a great community event. Kids and adults were able to explore the emergency vehicles that are used by DCSO, HPD and HFD. They were also able to watch interactive demos from experts on kitchen fires, downed electric lines and more.
