Thanks to the generosity of three local donors/ volunteers, Hastings Family Service has $35,000
in matching funds available for Give to the Max Day, held Thursday, November 20th. This is the
largest matching gift opportunity HFS has secured in its years of participating in Give to the Max
Day (GTMD).
Also known as the great Minnesota GIVE-Together, this on line giving event - in its 17th year - is
a day when Minnesota shows the world what the power of caring and generosity looks
like. Last year, donors gave $37.1 million dollars to more than 6,000 charities across
Minnesota. All gifts to HFS, whether given online, brought in person, or arriving in the mail by
November 20th will be eligible for the generous $35,000 match opportunity.
"October saw the most food shelf visits ever in Hastings Family Service 55-year history! The
need for food and services is the greatest it's ever been in our community. Give to the Max Day
is very important for HFS," said Amy Sutton, Executive Director.
HFS Director of Philanthropy, DawnMarie Vihrachoff, stated that 11with $35,000 in matching
funds available, every gift to HFS will have an even greater impact to help our neighbors in
need. Every gift to local nonprofits makes a difference in our community. We all do better

Give To the Max Day lasts for 24 hours, with random prize drawings for cash gifts to charities
and a $10,000 golden ticket award given to a Minnesota charity as well. Details can be found at
