Girls wrestle at Rebel Classic

The Hastings girls wrestling teams had some strong finishes at the Rebel Girls Holiday Classic at Champlin Park High School Dec. 29.
Ivy Brandenburg took second place at 100. She advanced to the championship with a major decision and two pins on the day. The title match was exciting, with Brandenburg falling 3-1 to Amelia Hermanson of Robbinsdale/Armstrong.
At 130B, Maya Campbell picked up a second place finish.
At 106, Trinity Yates took third for the Raiders by medical forfeit. Taylor Kokurek took third at 124B.
Alice Weinzettel placed fourth at 112, as did Annabel Norquist at 124, Amelia Miller at 170 and Maddy Radspinner at 235. Picking up fifth place finishes were Grace Gerlach at 136 and Esme Renneke at 236. Jolie Pettit took sixth at 155, as did Lily Watts at 190.
Fiona Olson was 10th at 118, Hannah Precious was 11th at 124 and Fiona Myers was 12th at 130.
The Raiders compete at the The Clash National High School Duals Friday and Saturday at the LaCrosse Center.
