Geraldine “Geri” M. Kendall, age 91, of Hastings, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025. Born on Sept. 29, 1933, to Fred and Florence (Goodier) Balster in Hastings, Minnesota, Geri was one of nine children and spent her childhood in the town she called home throughout her life.

Geri was an adventurous spirit who loved taking vacations in her younger years, creating cherished memories that she fondly reminisced about. Even in her later years, she embraced an active lifestyle, dedicating herself to daily walks often accompanied by her trusty walker. She had a passion for baking and was known for her delicious carrot cake, pumpkin pies, and chocolate chip cookies that brought joy to family gatherings.

An avid TV enthusiast, Geri especially enjoyed watching Judge Judy and sharing laughs with her loved ones. Known for her quick wit, infectious laughter, and impeccable sense of style, she had a remarkable ability to light up any room. She was deeply loved by everyone who knew her and even those who had just met her. To her family, she truly meant the world, and her presence was a gift that will be profoundly missed.

Family was at the heart of Geri’s life. She treasured spending time with her children, grandchildren, stepchildren, and great-grandchildren, often bringing everyone together to celebrate life’s special moments.

Geri is survived by her children, Bob (Donna) Seidl, Dave Seidl, Pat Seidl, and Penny Reinardy; her brother, Richard Balster; stepchildren; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis Kendall; three brothers; and four sisters.

A celebration of Geri’s life will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025, from 2-5 p.m. at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, 3075 Vermillion Street, Hastings, MN 55033. Burial will take place at a later date at Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings.
