Free class on nitrogen use open to Dakota County farmers

An upcoming class will provide nitrogen information to farmers ahead of the 2024 growing season.
Dakota County is partnering with University of Minnesota Extension to offer a free, one-day class called “Advanced Nitrogen Smart Training: A Deep Drive into the 4 Rs.” Participants will learn about nitrogen use guidelines that balance crop productivity with environmental preservation.
The class will be Friday, March 1 from 9 a.m.–noon at the Dakota County Extension and Conservation Center, 4100 220th St. W., Farmington.
Class participants can earn three continuing education credits — two for nutrient management and one for soil and water. For course details, visit, search nitrogen smart.
