“Pack a blanket or chair and a picnic, or order take out from one of Hastings’ restaurants,” an announcement from the City of Hastings urged. “Better yet, dine-in locally and come down for the show after dinner.”
One reader complained last week to The Journal that it was irresponsible to promote such community events. Please know that the city is taking necessary health precautions at these events.
“The defined event space has a current limit of 250 people. If attendance exceeds our limit, you may watch/participate outside the defined space. Staff will communicate before the event, as needed,” a city statement reads. “Please follow social distance guidelines, six feet from others outside your household.”
