Volunteers are working overtime in the next week for the debut of an exciting lineup of live music and community events at the Rivertown Days festival. Rivertown Days is run by the Hastings Area chamber of Commerce & Tourism bureau. The events started more than 40 years ago when a group of business owners organized the first Rivertown Days.
This year, Rivertown Days will transform the historic Hastings downtown district into a music festival. There will be four stages and 25 different bands performing during the festival run, from Friday, July 16 to Sunday, July 18.
“We are focused on celebrating 2021 as the year of recovery! A chance to bring our community and visitors together once again for a massive celebration, complete with continuous live music, good food, carnival rides and more.
The chamber and many local businesses are selling buttons that get visitors access to the continuous music and entrance to the carnival. The button is good for the full weekend. Kids 12 and under are free. The cost for a button is $15 in advance and $20 at the gate.
There will be four stages with entertainment throughout the event. Food trucks will be located throughout the downtown area with the carnival located at Levee Park. For a full list of entertainment, see rivertowndaysmn.com.
The huge Rivertown Days Arts & Crafts Fair will be located at Jaycee park. The event is free: no button is required to attend the Arts & Crafts Fair, which runs Saturday, July 17 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday, July 18 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. More than 60 vendors will be spread out in the park.
The huge Classic Car show will be held Sunday from 11 a.m. 4 p.m. where more than 100 classic cars and trucks will fill the downtown area. This event is also free to attend and display.
