Event set on Patient-Centered Care Act

Dakota and Scott County Farmers Unions are hosting an event beginning at 10 a.m. Feb. 27 at the Burnhaven Library Large Meeting Room, 1101 County Rd 42 W., Burnsville, for people to learn more about the Patient-Centered Care Act.
The Patient-Centered Care Act (SF1059, HF255) was introduced in 2025 and is authored by Sen. John Marty and Rep. Tina Liebling. It would replace Minnesota’s delivery and payment system for those in Medical Assistance and
MinnesotaCare with a Patient-Centered Care (PCC) system. Under the PCC system, the Department of Human Services (DHS) would:
•Pay providers directly for the care they deliver to patients, eliminating the
use of health plans as a middleman.
• ay primary care providers a small monthly fee for coordinating care.
Patients would be encouraged to choose a primary care provider, who would
help them navigate the health care system.
•Collaborate with community clinics to do outreach to people who are not
receiving care.
Guest presenters are Rose Roach and Anne Jones of Health Care for all
Minnesota.
The event is free and open to the public. Learn more at mfu.org/events.
