Elizabeth “Betty” Eilen, age 93 of Hampton, MN, passed away at her home on November 13, 2024. Betty was born August 14, 1931 in Hampton, Minn, the daughter of Math and Kathryn (Reinardy) Thurmes. Betty married Ralph Eilen on September 6, 1950 and celebrated 59 years of marriage before Ralph passed in 2009.
Betty worked several jobs at Eilen Feed Service and R&R Bar which she and Ralph owned, Schappers, Arden Foods, Write-On and was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing solitaire and doing puzzle books especially Search and Find and Wonderword, spending summers at the lake homes with family, relatives and friends on French Lake and spending the winters in Arizona and then Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter Jeanne; grandchildren, Jeffrey Smith and Jacob “Jake” Eilen; great grandchild, Mavrick Eilen; son-in-law, Dale Meyer; sisters, Mildred “Millie” Kimmes, Doris Mazurkiewicz and Viola Byrne.
She is survived by children, Tom (Julie) Eilen, Linda (Charles) Smith, Debbie Norberg-Meyer, Mary (Todd) Haro, Kathy (Joe) Wagner and Donna (Ray) Status; grandchildren, Jennifer Endres, Katie (Troy) Roff, Patrick (Jaci) Eilen, Eric Norberg, Jonathan (Krystle) Eilen, Amanda (Nick) Marthaler, Josh Haro, Jodie (Derek) Bouknight, Tyler (Cassie) Norberg, Jessica (Alec) Birk, Cristi (Ben) Corey, Matt Smith and Courtney (Alex) Campbell and great grandchildren, Ian Stanton, Jaden Eilen, Isabella Haro, Addyson Roff, Oliva Haro, Brooke Roff, Payton Endres, Kelby Eilen, Colton Haro, Adelia Eilen, Everlee Endres, Eli Eilen, Tommy Eilen, Olivia Norberg, Mackensie Eilen, and Shepard Bouknight; brothers Bud (Peg), Harry (Connie) and David “Litch” (Patty) Thurmes and sisters, Mary Catherine Falls and Patsy (Gery) Dohmen.
Mass of Christian Burial was held November 20, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. Mathias Church in Hampton with visitation from 9 – 11 a.m.
