Dorothy “Dot” Mary Fuchs, 86 years old, of Hastings passed away on August 4, 2025 at Benedictine-Regina in Hastings.
Dorothy was born in Hastings to Raymond and Lois Orman (McNamara) on September 13, 1938. She went to Hastings High School and graduated in 1955. Dorothy went on to earn her RN degree in nursing from Saint Catherine University in Saint Paul. She worked as a registered nurse for the state hospital in Hastings, followed by Regina Memorial Hospital for nearly 50 years.
She enjoyed tennis, downhill and cross-country skiing, biking, horseback riding, traveling and playing bridge with her close group of friends. She was involved in numerous activities through her church, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hastings. Dorothy was the most loving and nurturing mom, taking her children to the library and to the nursing home to see all the old folks.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Lois (McNamara) Orman.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Fuchs; daughter, Tracy (Jim) Gannon; son, Kurt Fuchs (Ann Anaya); grandchildren, Molly Gannon (Marcus) and Jimmy Gannon, Ariel (Mathias) Spanier and Anton Fuchs (Gwen Saliares); siblings, Maureen (Leon) Rother, Jeri Langer, Michael (Mary) Orman, and Patrick (Nancy) Orman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Hastings with a visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Cemetery.
