The Hastings School District announced last week that Scott Doran has been selected as the next Principal for Hastings High School. Mr. Doran has most recently been the interim principal since the retirement of Mike Johnson in February.

Doran is a committed educational leader with 24 years of experience in public schools. He joined the Hastings High School administrative team last July as an assistant principal. Prior to Hastings, he served as an Academy Principal for Health Science and Human Services at Shakopee High School. Doran has also served as a dean of students and spent many years as a teacher. During this past year, he has demonstrated a strong work ethic and commitment to both students and staff. He has a passion for community partnerships, student engagement, and is dedicated to student achievement both in the classroom and beyond.

Doran received his Educational Specialist degree from the University of St. Thomas, a Master of Arts in Education from St. Mary's University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and Psychology from Cornell College.

Scott and his wife Debi have three daughters; Abbi, Maddi, and Kayla. Pending school board approval, Scott will assume the official position on July 1, 2022.
