Law Enforcement Center (LEC) Locker & Wellness Room Remodel
Notice is hereby given that Dakota County will receive single prime sealed bids for the “LEC Locker & Wellness Room Remodel” project until 2:00 p.m. local time on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at the office of Facilities Management (Suite #2500), Administration Center, 1590 Highway 55, Hastings, MN, 55033, at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
A Pre-bid meeting will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at the Law Enforcement Center in Hastings, MN.
Representatives of the Owner and Design Consultant will be present. The site address is the same as noted above where bids
will be received on the bid date. The meeting is not mandatory but is the only opportunity to see the current conditions and
may aid in bidder’s understanding of the project. The deadline for bidder questions is March 8, 2024 – end of day.
Bidding documents including the bid form, drawings and specifications can be obtained from Franz Reprographics and will be
available on or before February 28, 2024. You may view and order bid documents by going to the Franz Reprographics web
site at www.franzrepro.com , and selecting the Franz Public Plan Room. Please login with your email address and password,
or Register if this is your first time in the Plan Room. Select the project from the list of public projects. Once you have selected

The County’s Law Enforcement Center (LEC) needs more changing/showering and personal belonging storage space for staff.
This project will provide an expansion of locker room spaces on the second floor of the County’s jail. Additionally, it will look
to provide additional related renovations by way of bid alternates, which includes the creation of a Wellness Room for staff.
Bids must be submitted only on the bid form supplied in this RFB document. No oral, telegraphic or telephonic bids or
modifications will be considered. Submit with each bid a certified check or acceptable bidder’s bond payable to Dakota County
in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total base bid. The successful bidder is required to furnish satisfactory Labor
and Material Payment Bond and Performance Bond equal to 100% of the total contract amount.
Bids may not be withdrawn within sixty (60) days after the opening bids. It is anticipated that the Dakota County Board of
Commissioners will consider award of the project on April 9, 2024 at its regular meeting, and reserves the right to accept any
bid or to reject any or all bids, or parts of such bids, and waive informalities or irregularities in bidding. The estimated
construction cost is approximately $355,000.
