Postcards related to the 2025 Dakota County Residential Survey will be mailed out beginning the week of Jan. 13. The survey gives residents the opportunity to rate county services, share their priorities and identify community strengths and concerns.
Surveys will be mailed to 7,000 randomly selected residential addresses throughout the county. Residents can rate the quality of life and their satisfaction with county government. They can also share their views on Dakota County programs and amenities and their funding priorities.
Dakota County usually conducts the survey every three years. The county is partnering with Olmsted, Scott, St. Louis and Washington counties to produce this survey. The five counties work with Polco to develop surveys with shared questions as well as questions unique to each county. Partnering with other counties cuts costs and allows real-time comparisons with similar organizations that serve demographically similar residents.
Results for the new survey are expected in June 2025. Results for past surveys are available at www.dakotacounty.us, search residential survey.
