Dakota County nearing 9,000 COVID-19 cases

Dakota County statistics show that the total number of COVIED-19 cases reported there are closing in on the 9,000 mark.

As of Monday, there have been 8,912 confirmed cases, and 626 of those cases have required hospitalization. There have been 133 COVID-19-related deaths in Dakota County, and the median age of people who have died is

83. The median age of the Dakota County Covid-19 case is 35.

How did those people contract COIVD? Community contact is listed in

28 percent of the cases, known contact with a confirmed case was listed in

25 percent of the reported instances, while travel and congregate living were reported in 9 percent of the cases. A community outbreak was identified in 6 percent of the cases and 3 percent of the cases were health care staff. There is no data on the cause of 20 percent of the cases.
