DAKOTA COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY HOSTS ANNUAL QUILT SHOW

SOUTH ST. PAUL – The theme of the 30th annual Dakota County Star Quilters exhibit is “The Threads That Bind Us.” Visitors to the exhibit will be treated to approximately 100 quilts and visitors can vote on for their favorites throughout the duration of the show.
The special lecture “You’ve Got a Friend Named Elmer” by Sue Heinz, will take place on Tuesday, April 8 at 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Heinz will share simple piecing techniques that require no pins, clips, or gadgets for precisely matching stripes and accurately piecing circles and eliminating bias stretch forever. Tickets for the lecture must be purchased in advance through the Dakota County Star Quilters website.
Founded in 1939, The Dakota County Historical Society, preserves, interprets and promotes the history of Dakota County, Minn. DCHS operates three historic sites -- Lawshe Memorial Museum at 130 3rd Avenue North in South St. Paul, Minn.; the LeDuc Historic Estate at 1629 Vermillion Street in Hastings, Minn.; and the Sibley Historic Site at 1357 Sibley Memorial Highway in Mendota, Minn. -- as well as a research library and research Web site.
