Charles Lambert Bey, 61, Cottage Grove, was charged on January 27, 2023, with misdemeanor 2nd degree driving while impaired. On January 26, 2023, in Ravenna Township, a deputy with the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a vehicle in a ditch. The reporting party also indicated that the driver had slurred speech and was asking for a ride. The deputy approached the SUV in the ditch and asked the driver, Bey, for his driver’s license. It was observed that Bey’s eyes were bloodshot and watery, his eyelids were partially open, and the vehicle smelled strongly of consumed alcoholic beverage. Another deputy arrived on scene and Bey was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests. After several attempts tests, he was given a preliminary breath test which read 0.339. Bey was placed under arrest. He has one prior conviction for second-degree DWI from 2017. Bey was booked in the Dakota County Jail.

Amy Marie Hager, 48, Lakeville was charged on January 26, 2023, with gross misdemeanor 2nd degree driving while impaired. On January 24, 2023, a deputy from the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office received a driving complaint about a female driving in oncoming traffic in Empire Township. The vehicle was stopped and the driver, Hager, was observed to have bloodshot and watery eyes, dilated pupils, incoherent use of words and a strong odor of consumed alcoholic beverage. She performed standardized field sobriety tests and based on the results, was asked to take a preliminary breath test, which she refused. During a search of her vehicle, deputies found a large open bottle of vodka in a brown paper bag behind the driver’s seat. Hager was transported to the Dakota County Jail where she refused another breath test. Hager has a prior conviction for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol from October 2021. Hager was booked in the Dakota County Jail.
