Dakota County 911 service was interrupted for more than two hours Thursday, Feb. 8.
Calls were rerouted through the Ramsey County 911 Public Safety Answering Point.
The outage was reported at about 6:40 p.m. and service was restored by 9:44 p.m.
A civil emergency alert was sent out by the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office to cellphones across the county: “Dakota County 911 lines are experiencing a service disruption. Working to restore service.”
Officials are working to determine the cause, which affected several counties.
