Corrine A. Lewis, age 94, of Hastings, MN, passed away into Christ’s arms Thursday evening, Aug. 24, 2023, in her own home upon her request.

Corrine Ann Lindstedt, the daughter of Ernest A. and Elizabeth H. (Morell) Lindstedt, was born in St. Peter, MN on April 21, 1929. Her family lived in St. Peter until moving to Hastings at age 14. While attending Hastings High School, Corrine obtained a job at the local telephone company. At 16 years of age she became one of the fastest operators they had working there. On May 21, 1947, Corrine married John L. (Jack) Lewis. They raised three children all seven years apart. She also worked in her parents’ neighborhood grocery store “Lindstedt’s Grocery.” She then became an administrative assistant and bookkeeper for the Parochial School System until retirement.

Corrine and Jack both loved people but most of all she loved her family endlessly. They enjoyed their vacationing with family and friends, spending time up north in Pine City, playing cards, dice and board games, rides in the country, but Corrine loved to go to the casino to play BINGO. And yet most of all Corrine’s best conversations with her loved ones were had over a cup of coffee, sitting at her’s or a neighbor’s kitchen table. (If only those tables could talk!)

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack; parents, Liz and Ernie; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marjorie (Max) Cane and Richard (Elizabeth) Lewis; and one great-great-granddaughter, Amoura Lewis.

Corrine is survived by her children, John (Ann) Lewis, Cheryl (Neil) Matsch, and Camille (Eric) Lee; sixteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and by many other relatives and friends.

Quotes Corrine lived by were “Enjoy laughter everyday and be able to laugh at yourself. Always meet people with a smile on your face and pass it on.”

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel in Hastings, MN with a visitation being held two hours prior at 9 a.m.. Family and friends are invited to a reception immediately following the service with interment at 1:45 p.m. at Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings, MN.
