The Devin J. Norring Foundation, Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, in collaboration with Dakota County Drug Task Force, Hastings Police Department, Dale Riley & Family, Victims of Illicit Drugs (V.O.I.D.), and fellow community organizers, is proud to announce the sponsorship of the 3rd International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) on Aug., 2023, at The Confluence Hotel.

This significant event, which is open to the public and free of charge, aims to raise awareness and honor the lives lost to overdose and fentanyl poisoning. The Confluence Hotel, located at 200 W. 2nd St., Hastings, MN 55033, will open its doors to the public at 6 p.m., with the program officially commencing at 7 p.m.

We are honored to have the following speakers in attendance: Congresswoman Angie Craig; Hastings Police Chief, Chief Wilske; Hastings Fire Chief, Chief Townsend; Dakota County Drug Task Force Commander, Captain Hermerding; Natalia Shevtsova (Dakota County Youth); Bridgette Norring, Founder, Devin J. Norring Foundation, V.O.I.D. Board Member, and more.

In a touching tribute, The Confluence Hotel will illuminate its cupulas a radiant purple, symbolizing remembrance and honoring the memory of those who lost their lives to an overdose or fentanyl poisoning. In conjunction with this, Mayor Mary Fasbender will issue the Proclamation for International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD), accompanied by the City Hall entry lights glowing in purple, expressing solidarity with the cause to honor and remember the victims of this heartbreaking crisis.

Factory Motor Parts is also a proud supporter of the evening’s event, generously providing two sets of two Minnesota Twins tickets for the Sept. 23, 2023 game against the Los Angeles Angels. These tickets will be raffled off to two lucky attendees, with winners being drawn towards the conclusion of the program. Winners must be present to claim their prize.

We encourage everyone in the community to attend this essential event and help raise awareness about the pressing issue of overdose and fentanyl poisoning. Together we can foster compassion, support, and understanding for those affected by addiction and work towards a healthier, safer community.
