Coborn's donates over $2,300 to Hastings High School

Raider fans all over Hastings love to show their support for their home town high school. Many of the individual sports host custom apparel orders before their seasons start, both as a fundraiser and to help their fans get sport specific swag. But what do you do if you want to support the Raiders in general? You shop at Coborn’s of Hastings. Coborn’s of Hastings is one of the only local retailers to have a large selection of Raider gear.

Coborn’s has about 500 square feet of space dedicated to Raider swag right at the front of the store. They sell a wide variety of goods; water bottles, hats, shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, gloves, and if there is something you want but do not see, chances are, they can order it. They will even do custom size orders, too.

The Raider section at Coborn’s is not even all that much of a community secret according to General Manager Keith Veiths.

“Coborn’s does this in all the cities they are in, and we were number one for school sales for our company,” he explained.

They were not just number one, they were number one with a couple exclamation points outselling the next closest store, Sauk Rapids, nearly 3-to-1. This all happened organically, meaning the community simply showed up and bought the goods with no advertising efforts or store promotions behind it. The sales just happened.

This is a huge benefit for the high school because Coborn’s donates one dollar from every Raider item sold to the high school. This year, they donated $2,322 dollars to Hastings High School.

Here is the challenge, Hastings! Most of you know someone that is a Raider fan or even a student. The challenge for the community is simple. Collectively buy 5,000 items from Coborn’s of Hastings in the next year so they can really have bragging rights over the other stores in Minnesota and donate over $5,000 dollars to the school. Together, let us more than double what they donated this year.
