The City is holding a candy cane hunt in its parks. Bring your family and have some fun finding hidden candy canes.
Candy Canes are hidden in 6 Hastings Parks. Use the 6 clues to locate in which parks the candy canes are hidden. Each Candy Cane will have a letter attached. Write down this letter or take a picture with your phone. At the end of your hunt you should have 6 letters to unscramble the secret word. Hint: one of Santa’s Reindeer. The hunt can be walked or biked on the trails or sidewalks and should take 1-2 hours to complete!
Candy Cane Clues: A Park that hosts live music, movies and more each summer.
A small park to enjoy take-out and downtown storefronts.
The perfect park for little ones to play and watch the trains.
This park is in the process of a design update for future park amenities.
Anglers can fish at this Park for bass, bluegill and channel catfish.
A boat can be launched at this Park to access the Mississippi River.
Rules: Please leave Candy Canes staked in the ground. (candy canes are 2 feet tall with a laminated letter zip tied) If you think a candy cane or letter has gone missing, contact us and we will replace it as soon as possible.
This activity is free and open to all ages. Prizes are free and provided by the Hastings Parks and Rec Department We hope you get outdoors and enjoy the parks and trails during the Candy Cane hunt and all year round! Starting this weekend, there will be horse drawn wagon rides to help you Head into the Holidays in Historic Hastings.
To invite you to downtown Hastings, the horse drawn wagon rides will be offered Saturday from noon – 4 p.m.
There also is live music downtown on Saturdays in December.
