Pastor Jim Bzoskie was honored as the Minnesota Sheriff’s Association Volunteer of the Year. He was presented a plaque by Dakota County Sheriff Joe Leko at the association’s Jail Administrators’ Conference in Brainerd on Sept. 14. “He began his work with the Sheriff’s Office in 1979. He is instrumental in our jail programs facilitating inmate church services, bible study, parenting and anger management classes among others. He gives hope to those who desperately need it. He is also a resource for our staff. We lean on him heavily for support and guidance as we navigate through work and personal lives. He is always there. Since he began 44 years ago, there have been over 1,100 hires in the Sheriff’s Office. He has touched every one of them. He also serves as the chaplain for the Hastings Police and Fire Departments. His ministry and charitable work are well known in the community. We are blessed to have him and so very happy he was recognized for his selfless service,” said Leko.
