With cherished memories, we celebrate the life of Bruce “Woody” Kochendorfer, who passed away unexpectedly in his home on April 29, 2024 at the age of 74.

Woody lived his life with gusto. From his younger years spent bird hunting alongside many friends and canine companions, plus a lifetime of fishing, Woody found solace and joy in the great outdoors. His passion for nature was evident as he took great pride in his yard, creating a sanctuary for wildlife with plenty of plants and bustling bird feeders.

He was more than just an outdoorsman; he was also the lead drummer with Giggs and The Branded Men in the 70s! And Woody’s natural silliness and perfect timing could light up any room he entered. As the life of the party, he loved bringing joy to others and making people laugh. He found true contentment in life’s simple pleasures: sharing stories over the smoker grill surrounded by friends & family, enjoying a cold drink (always filled to the brim with ice!), peaceful moments on a fishing boat, and capturing nature’s beauty through his lens.

Woody’s door was always open; his home was a place where everyone was welcome. Whether it was a cozy gathering of four or a bustling barbecue for twenty-five, he always made sure no one left hungry or without a smile.

We honor his legacy as the happy-go-lucky guy who could brighten anyone’s day with his goofiness.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly; parents, Geraldine and Wayne “Bud”; and sister and brother-in-law, Beverly (Jim) Judge.

Bruce is survived by his fiancé, Betty Sherry; children, Jay (Bradley Wagner), Cory (Ami), Tina Weber, Tanya (Mike) Tober; honorary son, Mike Sherry; grandchildren, Lyric, Croix and Finley Kochendorfer, Hunter, Kylee, and Bradyn Tober, Shawn, Bryon, and Kaelah Miller Wagner; siblings, Gloria “Snookie” (Bill) Lyon, Brad (Nikki) Kochendorfer, Darlene “Dar” (Dick) Huebner, Dawn (Pete) Gordon; and by his beloved dogs, Rocky and Spitfire.
