Bob M. Kulzer, age 83, of Hastings died May 2, 2023 in St. Paul. Bob was born on August 25, 1939 in Minneapolis to Norbert and Margaret (Biermann) Kulzer, He graduated from Cretin High School in 1957 and University of Wisconsin River Falls in 1962. Bob was united in marriage to Betty L. Stoffel on August 25, 1962 in Hastings. He was an avid tinkerer, history buff, sudoku player and hobbyist who loved adventure, road trips and travel. Bob retired in 1987 from H.D Hudson Manufacturing after many years as a production, research and development engineer. He then went on to work at Miller Manufacturing through 1991. He served the City of Hastings in multiple capacities over the years; Charter Commissioner (1969 - 1979), Housing Redevelopment Authority (1963 - 1976) and 2nd Ward City Councilman (1979 - 1988). He was preceded in death by his wife Betty; his parents; and grandson Adam. Bob is survived by his daughters Kate (Kevin) Spitzer of Seattle and Theresa (Alex) Kopiecki of Edina; grandchildren Madeline, Ethan and Aubin; brother Norbert of Milwaukee, WI. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, June 30 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St., Hastings. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Cemetery. Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel is assisting the family. Memorials are preferred to Como Park Conservatory.
