Beverly Rose Finke, age 84, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025, after a long battle with Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease. Shex was born on December 3, 1940, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Berwin and Margretta Otteson.
Beverly lived her life dedicated to her faith in Jesus. She was an active member of Resurrection United Methodist Church in Hastings, where she volunteered, started the Stephen Ministries program, and enjoyed playing piano for the choir.
Known for her kind heart, generous spirit, and warm personality, Beverly often expressed how grateful she was for her husband, LeRoy (Chip), her family, and many good friends. Even when words became difficult for her, she frequently said, “God is Good” and “I am blessed.”
Bev enjoyed many things in life, including fishing, motorcycling, and playing games—she was very competitive! She loved music and played piano, flute, and accordion. She was also an excellent cook and enjoyed reading.
She worked for 20 years at Sunstream Inc. Property Management, where she built lasting friendships and enjoyed her career.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Berwin and Margretta Otteson, and her sister, Carole Haynes.
Beverly is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, LeRoy (Chip) Finke; children, Jeanne (Gary) Stephens, Valerie O’Brien, Kelly (Robin) Johnston, Kristin (Vincent) Kustrich, Lonnie (Roxanne)Finke, and Amber (Chris) Holwerda; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many dear friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at White Pine Memory Care in Cottage Grove for their wonderful care and kindness.
A Celebration of Beverly’s Life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Resurrection United Methodist Church in Hastings, with visitation from 9:30 - 11 a.m., followed by the service at 11 a.m. and a light lunch afterward.
Memorial donations in Beverly’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
The family is handling their own arrangements.
