Bernard “Bernie” A. Schroeder, 78, of Hastings, MN passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 7th, 2025 at his residence.
Bernie was born in Luxembourg to John B. and Jean T (Moitzheim) Schroeder on July 6th, 1946. He went to high school at Hastings High and graduated in 1964. He went on to earn his degree in Automotive Tech. He began his working days with the gas company. He then started working in the HVAC business for over 40 years as a foreman and service technician for businesses in Red Wing, MN. He enjoyed being outside, working on machinery, woodworking, doing farming, watching his grandkids grow, spending time with family and their dog, Tasha. He will be truly missed.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Addie; and his parents, John and Jean.
He is survived by his 3 children: John (Kassandra) Schroeder, Jamie (Kevin) Peterson, Joseph (Veronica) Schroeder; 6 grandchildren; Noah, Issac, Joshua, Aaron, Jocelyn, and Julianne. He is also survived by many friends and family.
Although losing both Bernie and Addie in such a short amount of time is hard, we are all taking comfort in knowing that they are with each other and at peace dancing, snowmobiling, and driving around in their Plymouth. They have left long lasting memories in all of our hearts and we will cherish the FOREVER!!! WE LOVE YOU BOTH AND WILL MISS YOU FOREVER AND ALWAYS!!!
A visitation for Bernard will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025 from 9:30 -11 a.m. at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, 3075 Vermillion Street, Hastings, MN, with a funeral service to immediately follow the visitation.
Interment will be St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Cemetery in Hastings, MN.
